PMDETA is a colorless to yellowish clarified liquid with CAS number 3030-47-5 and is easily soluble in water. It can be used as a multifunctional ligand or catalyst in various polymerization reactions, and is a highly active catalyst for polyurethane reactions, which is used to produce polymers with modified properties. Application
It is highly active blowing catalyst primarily for rigid foams but also for semi-flexible foam application. Due to the preferred isocyanate/water reaction the flowability at the beginning of the reaction is very good.
PMDETA is very effective in pour-inplace polyurethane systems (such as rigid systems) which are based on MDI. At a use level of 1.5 php, PMDETA provides the necessary flowability and cure rates required in the production environment. PMDETA is also recommended for TDI, TDI/MDI and MDI HR flexible molded foams, as well as for use in integral skin and microcellular systems. It can also be as a raw material to make quaternary ammonium salt.
