Red phosphorus is a good flame retardant among non halogen flame retardants, with advantages such as low addition, high flame retardant efficiency, low smoke, low toxicity, and wide use. Red phosphorus is used in combination with inorganic flame retardants such as aluminum hydroxide and expandable graphite to produce composite non halogen flame retardants such as phosphorus/magnesium, phosphorus/aluminum, and phosphorus/graphite. The flame retardant dosage can be significantly reduced, thereby improving the processing performance and physical and mechanical properties of plastic products. However, ordinary red phosphorus is prone to oxidation and moisture absorption in the air, which can cause dust explosions, transportation difficulties, and poor solubility with polymer materials, limiting its application range. To make up for this deficiency and expand the application range of red phosphorus, we have adopted foreign microcapsule coating technology to make it microencapsulated red phosphorus. Microencapsulated red phosphorus not only overcomes the inherent drawbacks of red phosphorus, but also has high efficiency, low smoke, and does not produce toxic gases during processing. Its dispersibility, physical, mechanical properties, thermal stability, and flame retardancy are all improved and improved.
