Any chemical substance has both advantages and disadvantages for the human body and the environment. The key to seeking benefits and avoiding harm lies in how to manage and use it correctly, especially for the application of flame retardants. We should take the risk assessment conclusions as the basis and adopt a scientific attitude to ensure that flame retardants play their due role in ensuring the safety of human life and property. The Ministry of Public Security implemented the flame retardant standards for flame retardant products in public places in 2007. The standard "Flammability Requirements and Identification of Flame Retardant Products and Components in Public Places" formulated by the Ministry of Public Security will be officially implemented in early 2007, which puts forward higher requirements for the flame retardancy of plastic products. This standard is formulated by the Ministry of Public Security in order to effectively control casualties and property damage caused by fires in public places, and is under the centralized management of the Fire Protection Materials Subcommittee of the National Fire Protection Standardization Technical Committee. This standard defines the definition and classification of flame retardant products and components used in public places, combustion performance requirements and identifications, and specifies the combustion performance of plastic products used in public places, such as building products, floor paving materials, wires and cables, sockets, switches, lamps, household appliances, as well as thermal insulation layers and foamed plastics used in seats, sofas, mattresses, and puts forward corresponding requirements for flame retardant standard grades.
