Polyurethane is a complex material that includes polyols that react with various catalysts or additives. For various polyols and diisocyanates, polyurethane with slightly different structures can be used for various applications.
Please remember:
Polyurethane is not rubber, but it is a type of plastic that can be rigid, flexible, or in between.
There are two types of polyurethane, polyester and polyether. Both of these are elastomers and therefore have elasticity. Both have wear resistance, while polyester has slip resistance and polyether has wear resistance.
Polyester can withstand high temperatures for a long time, while polyether can withstand constantly changing temperatures, making it a better choice for exposure to low temperatures.
When it comes to durability, polyester fibers are more resistant to tearing, chemical resistance, and shock absorption. Polyether is better under wet or humid conditions and has better rebound performance.
